Virtual Doula Support

The support you need, where you need it, when you need it, and how you need it.

Not all births need a doula to be physically present. For families that know their primary support person is their emotional rock, I know that all they need is a whisper in their ear of what to do and that can take the experience to the next level! You need my expertise and your primary support person working together to guide you through the unknowns of labour and birth.

And once you’ve had your babe, you may need information and a demonstration rather than another body in the home willing to hold your baby. You need someone to help you feel confident about the choices you’re making. You need someone to offer encouragement and compassion because theta actually get it. You need someone that understands what you’re going through. You need a trusted expert that is sensitive to your needs, and knows your family, and is available for every question, while providing suggestions that’s truly aligned with your values.

So a virtual doula may be just what you need. Rest assured, no matter the circumstance, or where you are in the world, you can have your doula by your side.

What Can Virtual Support Look Like

  • Every family is different and our doulas have supported a variety of families. We won’t give you a cookie-cutter answer to your questions. Based on our conversations, we’ll give you personalized suggestions and options that make sense for you.

  • Description text goes here
  • Between you, one support person and your doula(s) you'll have a private group chat. Giving you an opportunity to ask all those random questions that come to mind. Think of it as your doula in your pocket - we’re never far away.

  • During these 1.5 hour sessions, we’ll have an opportunity to discuss, plan and prepare for your babe’s birthday party and your transition to parenthood. If you’re looking for education classes, we can add that into your package and schedule private personalized classes.

  • If you hire us while you’re still pregnant, we’ll have preemptive chats to set your family up for success. You’ll learn insider knowledge and tips for your recovery process, what the first few days truly look like, what’s normal for your babe and a wide range of feeding strategies.

  • Birth can sometimes leave us with unanswered questions or unprocessed, uncomfortable feelings that we aren’t given the opportunity to understand. A postpartum debrief is a private session where you can share, unpack and be heard.

Ways We Support You

in addition to what’s mentioned above

  • Once you are 37 weeks, I am available 24 hours a day for your immediate labour-related questions. I don’t make any big plans in anticipation of your call.

  • From the moment you let us know you’re in labour, we’ll provide suggestions, be your soundboard and coach you through the unknowns. We’ll help you remain calm in those overwhelming moments.

  • During the early days, we’ll have scheduled and impromptu video or telephone check-ins, where we’ll debrief your birth experience, discuss feeding strategies, provide suggestions for your physical and mental recovery, and help you decipher your newborn’s cues

Virtual Postpartum Doula

It’s not about us holding your baby, while that can be what you need at that moment. It’s about helping you feel confident about the choices you’re making, offering encouragement and compassion because we get it. It’s about talking to someone that understands what you’re going through to remind you, “you’re actually doing better than you realize.” It’s about having a trusted expert that is sensitive to your needs, and knows your family, be available for every question, and provide options that’s truly aligned with your values.

In most cultures, it’s known that the immediate family and community support new parents for the first 6 weeks to two months.

In North America, we seem to have forgotten, or just ignored the intense changes parents are going through. Mama, you deserve to not worry about anything except cuddling with your babe, resting, eating what’s brought to you and recovering, while someone cares for you! Let us help you build your community and confidence.

Pillars of Support

  • You are going through so many changes right now and most of the focus unfortunately shifts to how your newborn is doing. With us around, we keep an eye on how YOU are doing: emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.

  • We teach you all our little tips and tricks that we’ve picked up over the years that actually work! From soothing strategies, to how to avoid getting peed on, to how to create an enjoyable bath time experience, we’ve got you covered!

  • Lactation support is not only for those who are latching their newborns directly to the breast. Lactation support is about learning what feeding options are aligned with your lifestyle and preferences, and learning your child’s feeding cues.

What Virtual Families Are Saying

“[Nikole & Fiona] worked hard to teach us on what to expect during the weeks leading up towards our due date, what to expect during labour and delivery as well as postpartum. With their education, Joe and I felt so much more prepared. They taught us that no question is a silly question and to always trust our maternal instincts … I will forever be thankful of the relationship we have built with both Nikole and Fiona. They have become part of the family and I look forward to having them part of our future.”

Alana, first time mom

“My first Zoom call with Fiona was wonderful! She is knowledgeable and comforting and made me feel confident. She is easy to talk to; I never felt like my questions were silly or like I should be embarrassed to ask them. She has a way of providing excellent advice while still making you feel in control which is so important as a parent … Even my mom, who is experienced with grandchildren, would say: “What does Fiona think about this? Or, send Fiona a message about this...”.”

Natalie, first time mom

“The Delivery Womb provides amazing services for all prenatal care, women with anxiety, and have a wealth of knowledge to share about the birth process … The doulas continued to stay in contact making sure I was mentally prepared to birth again, and because of the amazing prenatal support I received, I was able to have the confidence, and surpress the anxiety to have my baby. Your birth experience is dependent upon the supports you have around you, and I’m happy that I had such kind, warm-hearted, powerful women to support me through this process.”
