Postpartum Doula Support

The support you didn’t know you needed

Parenthood doesn’t have a manual?!

Bringing home a baby is no doubt a rewarding yet challenging life experience. While your priority may be caring for your newborn, it’s also essential to spend time nurturing yourself! The fourth trimester is a time to focus on healing, recovery, mental wellness and bonding. As your postpartum doulas, we are here to help you develop and trust your parental instincts, allowing you to focus on your newborn while becoming the parent you want to be.

Adjusting to life after babe is born requires support, and was never meant to be done alone. By purchasing your postpartum packages, you have the peace of mind that your support is secured and you have first priority to our availability around your babe's birthday party.

We offer both virtual, in-person and hybrid packages

What Does Support Actually Look Like

  • You are going through so many changes right now and most of the focus unfortunately shifts to how your newborn is doing. With us around, we keep an eye on how YOU are doing: emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.

  • We teach you all our little tips and tricks that we’ve picked up over the years that actually work! From soothing strategies, to how to avoid getting peed on, to how to create an enjoyable bath time experience, we’ve got you covered!

  • Lactation support is not only for those who are latching their newborns directly to the breast. Lactation support is about learning what feeding options are aligned with your lifestyle and preferences, and learning your child’s feeding cues.

  • We’ll discuss, plan and prepare for your babe’s birthday and your transition to parenthood. We’ll guide you through what you need to consider, and plan for based on your priorities & lifestyle.

  • Between you, one support person and your doula(s) you'll have a private group chat. Giving you an opportunity to ask all those random questions that come to mind. Think of it as your doula in your pocket - we’re never far away.

  • We’ll have scheduled and impromptu video or telephone check-ins to unpack your birth experience, discuss feeding strategies, provide suggestions for your physical and mental recovery, and help you decipher your newborn’s cues. If you opt for in-person support, then we’ll come to your home to give you a hand.

  • If you hire us while you’re still pregnant, we’ll have preemptive chats to set your family up for success. You’ll learn insider knowledge and tips for your recovery process, what the first few days truly look like, what’s normal for your babe and a wide range of feeding strategies.

  • Every family is different and our doulas have supported a variety of families. We won’t give you a cookie-cutter answer to your questions. Based on our conversations, we’ll give you personalized suggestions and options that make sense for you.

  • Birth can sometimes leave us with unanswered questions or unprocessed, uncomfortable feelings that we aren’t given the opportunity to understand. A postpartum debrief is a private session where you can share, unpack and be heard.

  • You have access to a wide variety of resources to expand your exposure to content, we believe, to be true representations of normal births and parenting experiences. You’ll see videos, worksheets, exercises, practices, suggested readings, referrals and more

Postpartum Doula Packages

If you want practical, hand-on care, in person support is the right fit for you. We will come to your home for a minimum of four hours during the day (eight hours if it is overnight) to do some on-the-job infant care training or care for your newborn so you can spend time doing what is necessary for your wellbeing.

Fresh Ten

Feel at ease knowing your doula will meet you at home the day you return from the hospital for TEN HOURS of continuous support! With an extra set of hands around the house, your postpartum doula can help you prepare snacks, do some light tidying up, steep teas and herbs that encourage your healing, hug you while you’re crying, help you settle in to a rhythm at home and take care of your babe while you take a nap. We’ll keep working on that latch and get your fourth trimester off to a great start.

Fiona was extremely knowledgeable, kind and patient. She took the time to listen to me about my struggles with breastfeeding my newborn, asked valid questions to get to the root of the issues, and provided some great recommendations that are working. She also gave great advice about how I can minimize the likelihood of me getting mastitis this time around, given that I’m an overproducer with extremely fatty milk. I definitely recommend her services for anyone with questions, struggling, or looking for reassurances.

Postpartum Doula Support

It’s not about us holding your baby, while that can be what you need at that moment. It’s about helping you feel confident about the choices you’re making, offering encouragement and compassion because we get it. It’s about talking to someone that understands what you’re going through to remind you, “you’re actually doing better than you realize.” It’s about having a trusted expert that is sensitive to your needs, and knows your family, be available for every question, and provide options that’s truly aligned with your values.

“My first Zoom call with Fiona was wonderful! She is knowledgeable and comforting and made me feel confident. She is easy to talk to; I never felt like my questions were silly or like I should be embarrassed to ask them. She has a way of providing excellent advice while still making you feel in control which is so important as a parent. She was so patient too. I forgot a few of our appointments and she didn’t seem annoyed at all. We would set up another time for a phone call and it was so nice to chat about the baby and about my recovery as a first time mom. In a time when it’s easy to forget about yourself because you have a new baby to care for, it’s nice that someone takes the time to check in on you too. … Even my mom, who is experienced with grandchildren, would say: “What does Fiona think about this? Or, send Fiona a message about this...””
